Project Portfolio
A showcase of my innovative projects that demonstrate technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and real-world application of knowledge.
Probiotics and Decision-Making
Leading an experiment under Dr. Aline Dantas for the effects of probiotics on decision-making. Currently running EEG analysis with Maastricht Gambling Task and Food Choice Task for a whole brain analysis.
Student Representative
Representing the Cognitive Neuroscience specialization in the Academic Board of Research Masters in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience. Responsible for bridging the gap between the students and the university, I am working with my colleagues to conduct colloquia lectures on different disciplines, organize a symposium for the entire master's program, and attend monthly meetings with the Academic Board.
Probiotics and Decision-Making
Leading an experiment under Dr. Aline Dantas for the effects of probiotics on decision-making. Currently running EEG analysis with Maastricht Gambling Task and Food Choice Task.
Temporal Uncertainty in Decision-Making
Conducted a pupillometry design with an in-house measure using Arduino and camera, using MEYE software. Tested 10 participants for pupil responses to temporal uncertainty.
Multisensory Integration
Wrote a literature review on multisensory integration and its role in education, comparing different cutting-edge methods and evaluating their implementation in the Turkish education system as part of a volunteer research assistantship in Yeditepe University.
YGA Global Impact Middle School / High School Program
Selected to be in the 60-student quota of YGA Global Impact High School Program among 50,000 applicants, after successfully completing the Middle School Program. YGA aims to further establish a young generation of leaders through several activities and field studies. Per this program I developed a science kit and travelled around Türkiye to schools and orphanages in villages to teach science. I was then further selected to be part of a mentorship program to lead an incoming team of high school students, with enhanced responsibilities such as organizing camps. A highlight was organizing a summer camp for 200 students during COVID lockdown, which involved high levels of coordination and out-of-the-box thinking for activities.
Intern Research Assistant
STRENGHTS aims to teach mindfulness techniques to slightly traumatized Syrian refugees in order to reach to far more people with a single act. By this, I experienced data entering with CastorED, a commonly used data entering and storing system for qualitative data. Entered data of subjects from previous experiments to the system. Been a part of several workshops conducted with children refugees while their parents were at a separate workshop. Experienced how refugees act precautious more often than other children.
